What was the transition like playing your sport to now being an artist? Was it hard? Did you find it easy? Fill free to name some of the highs and lows.
The transition was smooth because I new my body couldn't take the demanding physicality of the sport. Being an artist was an easy transition as if playing my favorite sport, specially dancing since I felt I needed to continue moving my body. Writing was also easy because it allows me to free my mind.
How has working in the arts changed your life?
I would not say it has changed my life. It has given me, however, the chance to establish a new community among other artists.
Something you're most proud of in your sports career and something in your arts career
I feel most proud of making it to the semifinals while coaching my high school team with only 12 players on the roster. In my artistic career, I'm most of having publish three books, and staging on of my plays.
What piece of advice would you give to someone choosing to go down the same path as you?
Enjoy it.
