  • What was the transition like playing your sport to now being an artist? Was it hard? Did you find it easy? Fill free to name some of the highs and lows.

I don't know that there was ever any transition because I actually was always doing some sort of performance art at the same time as being a student athlete. I was in the band and danced when I was younger and did it through most of my childhood and adolescence. I ended up studying graphic design as an undergrad student and continued that passion for art and creativity by pulling it into the various aspects of my life as much as I could.

  • How has working in the arts changed your life?

I've always been interested in art and practicing art, but over time its made me hone in and focus and lean into the idea that my purpose was to be creative and make things while I'm here on this earth. Working in arts has just kept me connected to who I am at my core and provided me with clarity each time explore a new artistic form.

  • Something you're most proud of in your sports career and something in your arts career

I'm most proud of my ability to persevere. I think to be an artist and to be an athlete takes a special level of discipline, comfort with discomfort, and unwavering belief in self to navigate the unknowns that having a creative career/path comes with.

  •  What piece of advice would you give to someone choosing to go down the same path as you?

Do it all. Try anything that peaks your interest. There are limitless possibilities and you'll find the things that work for you and bring you joy. (Remember to keep a little for yourself. Everything doesn't need to be commodified.)

  • Anything else people should know about you?

    Not at the moment
